Taiwan - Food Part 3

I really love eating youtiao. In Taiwan, they really know how to make good food taste even better! Our friend in Taipei brought us to eat youtiao wrapped in shaobing for breakfast. Of course, we also had to order douhua shui to make the meal complete. The shaobing was so crisp and not too oily. The youtiao was super crunchy and nicely deep-fried. It was heavenly and definitely ranked as my favourite breakfast in Taiwan! Someone let me know if they discover that its also sold in Singapore!!

Taiwan Food - Part 2

We were also at Taipei and stayed at Shen Wang Hotel (related to the Want Want biscuit group). Near our hotel, was this Taiwanese Cusine restaurant (that is its name). My husband took this beautiful pictures of these superdelicious foods! From the top, we have (1) Appetizers being some mixture of savoury food wrapped in seaweed and rice flour roll (they love to stuff pork floss in their sushi here!), (2) Oyster with Toufu (3) the noodles with minced pork and one prawn had super flavoured stock! (4) entrails dish: comprising of dried sausages, intestines, tou kwa, and some meat. I highly recommend this place for the food but be warned: the service is not great from some of the staff!

Taiwan - Food 1

Our family recently visited Taiwan. We brought En (2 yrs and 8 mths) and Yi (8 mths) along, together with my MIL and mum. The best thing about Taiwan is the FOOD! I also enjoyed the scenery there and we met some really nice Taiwanese locals there as well.
I shall feature some Taiwanese food in my blog. My favourite dumpling is Xiao Long Bao. In Taiwan, I had the privilege of eating XLB from prepared from the streetside hawker, from Din Tai Fung and this excellent shophouse called Gong Zheng Dian (in Hualien). This picture shows the XLB from Gong Zheng Dian, it doesn't look like the one we have at Crystal Jade which is the Shanghainese style. There is minced meat with the soup inside the dumpling. Absolutely delicious and it costs only 25 cents each. I am still dreaming about it... Anyone wants to bring this business to Singapore?
