Jacob Ballas Garden

A few weeks ago, we brought En to visit Jacob Ballas Garden with Mei Mei Sophie and Mei Mei Ashley. Here are some pictures of his fun time! Not sure if Mei Mei Sophie and Mei Mei Ashley's parents wanted their gals to be featured, so have not included them here for the time being.

The Cat and the Dolphin

Last week, En was doing some finger painting on a cat. Was trying to teach him "C" for "cat". He really had fun with his fingers swooshing around in the fingerpaint. I realised that its very "safe" (no active boy running around the house threatening to paint my walls with his fingerpaint!) to put En on the highchair when doing painting activities. The mess is minimal as I lay a piece of plastic on his high chair table top as well as the floor.

Today, I decided to do "D" for "dolphin". I got En to try and colour some dolphins. He chose all the crayon colours for the respsective dolphins. He would start colouring them and after a few swipes of the crayon at each dolphin, would abandon them, leaving poor mummy to finish up his colouring for him. :) Here is apicture of the Dolphins swimming around in the sea (made up of a lid of a printing paper box). In case you are wondering, the fluffy white bits on the top right hand corner of the box lid are clouds. :)

The dolphins were supposed to hang by a thread so that they can be "jumping" around in and and out of the sea. However, my attempts to hang up the dolphins were met with vehment protests of "no", "no", and "no"! I am not sure why. But En preferred sticking the dolphins directly onto the sea! Oh well, its his craft so I obliged. I realised that it could be that he is more familiar with sticking items with glue and pasting them on paper. So, maybe a different method of crafting didn't agree with him! The same thing happened when I shifted some of his drawings around in the living room. He was quite upset that I had shifted their position so I had to re-shift them back! Todders.. hmmphh.. only God would know what they are thinking about!

Henderson Waves

We went to Henderson Waves a few weeks back. It was a really breezy afternoon and the place was nicely dotted with other people there to enjoy the beautiful ridge architecture and good weather.

En was, as usual, particularly fascinated with the dry leaves on the wave platform. I managed to capture a shot of him squeezing a brown leaf into the tiny gap in between the wooden floor panels. The other memorable thing for him was probably catching sight of the Singapore eagle as it soared to and fro, hundreds of metres above the Henderson Waves.

A day at the beach

We brought En En to East Coast Park last week. He had loads of fun touching the tiny rocks that we sieved out from the seawater. He kept picking them up and putting them down. He also enjoyed pouring water all over himself (especially since he does not play a lot with water at home, aside from bathing). The interesting thing is that he does not like sand being poured over his skin but he does not mind sitting on the sand!

Fun at Atlantis City!

Today, I brought En to Atlantis City, at Delta Sports Complex. Ruth introduced the place to me and it was really quite fun! They had all these equipment for climbing, a ball pool, little toy cars, swings and nursery rhyme music to go along with all the explorative mood of little toddlers. And it costs only $20 for 6 hours worth of fun. Today was a trial session so I paid $5. Its very economical for a HDB dweller like myself. :)

I met a lot of expat mums there, some Japanese ladies and a few local mums like myself. We would chat, introduce ourselves and our kids' age, say "ooh" and "ahh" and they, "see u later" as we chase after our respective kids attempting some form of mischief.

I love the place! Sure wish there were such playgrounds when I was a kid. Am definitely bringing Isaac back there for more tumble and fun!

Morning at the Park

We went to the Botanic Gardens this morning. The weather was nice and cool after a shower. En was very engrossed with leaves. Yes, the plain, old, muddy leaves. They were yellow, greeen, brownish and rotting. It really takes a toddler exploring his world to remind me how we adults, have stopped taking time to smell the flowers and touch the leaves. Pictures above show En cleaning the leaf in a puddle of water and posing for his mummy. Click!
